BRISCOE, LUTHER T., farmer, Sec. 12; P. O. Milo; has a farm of sixty-nine acres of land; born September 4, 1824, in Maryland, and lived there until he was eight years of age, when his parents moved to Ohio, and in 1836 they moved to Fulton county, Illinois, where he remained till 1854, when he came to Indianola, where he lived about eight years; he settled on his present farm in 1867, where he has lived ever since; he was postmaster at Indianola from 1856 to 1861—about five years; has been town clerk of this township; married, June 9, 1850, Mary A. Huff, a native of Deleware; they have a family of eleven children: Julia Ann, George T., Catharine M., Mollie W., Frederick S., Howard H., Jane H. and Sarah H. (twins) and Elenor E., now living; Zerilla B. and Edward H., deceased.
