HARVEY, GEORGE M., boots and shoes; was born in Hamilton county, Ohio, in 1855, and came with his parents to this county in 1866, and in 1872 he began as clerk for W. A. Haskell, who was then in the boot and shoe business, and in 1875 he was left in charge of the stock, which he sold out and then went to Des Moines and clerked for about thirteen months and in August, 1877, he engaged in the business upon his own responsibility.
