McCANN DUNN, physician and surgeon, Bloomington; Dr. McCann Dunn is another of the old reliable physicians of Bloomington; he is a native of Frederick Co., Va., was born April 7, 1821; he began the study of medicine in 1847; attended his first course of lectures at McDowell’s Medical College, known as the Missouri Medical College, St. Louis; graduated at the Medical College, Chicago, 1862. In 1850 he began practicing in Knox Co., Ill., where he remained three years; though in 1852, he began the practice of homoeopathy, believing this to be the true science of medicine. In 1853, he came to Bloomington, where he has since resided, devoting his time exclusively to his profession. He is President of the McLean County Homoeopathic Medical Society, which was organized in 1878; he also helped to organize the Illinois State Homoeopathic Medical Society.
