BELTON, WM., farmer; Sec. 6; P. O. Liberty. He was born in Ireland, Sept. 15, 1815. In 1834 he came to Pennsylvania; in 1836 he came to New Orleans; in 1837 came to St. Louis, and in the fall returned to New Orleans. In 1888 he came to Ohio; thence to Indiana, and was employed on public works as contractor and superintendent for sixteen years, in Indiana and Ohio. In 1865 he came to Adams county. He owns 175 acres of land; married Eliza Moore, May 10, 1841. She was born, Sept. 21, 1821, in Morgan county, Ohio. Had twelve children, six living: Rachael A., Catherine, Lucy J., Thos. C. Susan A., and Eugenia.
