BISHOP, SAMUEL B., farmer; Sec. 19; P. O. Quincy; was born in Licking county, Ohio, Dec. 20, 1832; came to this county, with his parents, in 1834, and settled in Melrose township; was educated in the schools of this county, and in 1854, was married to Miss Malinda Hughes. She was born in this county, and died in 1857. By this marriage he has two children, one son and one daughter. He married his second, and present, wife in 1867. She was Miss Mary C. Hughes, of Wisconsin. They have three children, two sons and one daughter. He owns 119 acres of land, which, for soil and improvement, will compare favorably with any in the township. He is Independent in politics, and one of the most energetic and industrious of the county’s citizens.
