NESBITT, S. S., farmer; Sec. 31; P. O. Payson; was born in 1839 in Wyoming county, N. Y., and is the fifth child of Henry and Ellenor Nesbitt; mother died in 1861; father is still living in New York; came to Illinois in 1859; located in Adams county in 1862; married to Miss Emily Wheeler in May, 1867. She was born in 1849; has four children: Lemuel B., born July 8, 1869; Lillie May, born Jan. 11, 1872; Harry E., born Oct. 2, 1878. Owns 123 acres of land, which is under a good state of cultivation. He grows wheat and raises stock; has lately added to his stock a thorough-bred horse, and some fine brood mares. Politically is a Democrat.
