GUEGEL, NICK, wagon manufacturer, 8th street, between Adams and Jackson. He was born in Bolch Regeirungs-bezirk, Coblentz, Prussia, Sept. 26, 1826, and emigrated to America via New York City in 1853, thence to Springfield, Ill., remaining eight months, when he went to Alton, Ill., and from there to Quincy, Ill.; married Miss Lena Heismann in Quincy in 1856. She was born in Swabers, Europe, in 1828. They have six children: Liza, aged 22; Philip, 20; John, 19; Mathilda, 17; Lena, 15; and Theresa, 12. Religion, Catholic. Politics, Democrat. Mr. Guegel served in the 8th Pioneer Regiment at Coblentz, under the King of Prussia, from 1845 to 1849.
