KOCH, JOHN L., saddles and harness, 612 Maine street; residence, same; born in Germany in 1832; came to the United States in 1839, and located in Quincy in 1840; married Annie Albright in 1862. She was born in Germany in 1840. Seven children are the fruits of this marriage: Philip, Maximillian, Frances, Theresa, Bernard, John A., and Adolph. They are Catholics. He is a Democrat. He served two terms as Supervisor; was a fireman twenty-two years, and has been in business twenty-three years. His father was one of the oldest saddlers in Quincy, having started in 1840. He has the oldest sign in Quincy, one which was purchased by his father thirty-eight years ago from Levi B. Allen, made by Mr. Lyman.
