SWENEY, JAMES G., farrier; 26 South 4th street; residence, York, between 2d and 3d; born in City Londonderry, Ireland, 1844; came to the United States 1849, and located in Quincy with his father in 1851; married Lizzie Dodia in 1865. She was born in St. Louis in 1846. Their children are: John C., James B., Lillie, Edward D., Emmet, and Clara B. His father, Daniel Sweney, established his business in 1851, when he came to Quincy, and is well and favorably known all over the state as a farrier and horse shoer; has been in business since 1866.
