UEBENER, CASPER, farmer; Sec. 9, P. O. Quincy. The subject of this sketch was born in Germany, July 8, 1818; was educated in the schools of his native country, and in August, 1842, emigrated to this country, and settled in Adams county, Ill., in 1843. He was married in 1847 to Miss Elizabeth Schnellbecker, of Quincy. They have had twelve children, nine of whom are now living, two sons and seven daughters. He owns 200 acres of land, which, for soil and improvement, will compare with any in the township. He is Democratic in politics, and a member of the German Lutheran church. Is one of the large and well-to-do farmers of the county, notwithstanding he began life poor.
