BOWLES, ROBERT L., farmer; Sec. 7; P. O. Quincy. The subject of this sketch was born in Ellington township, June 2, 1851. He is the second son of A. E. Bowles (deceased), one of the early settlers of Ellington township. His early education was received at La Grange College, LaGrange, Mo. He is Democratic in politics (having followed in the footsteps of his father, who was, during life, one of the leaders of the party in this county). He owns eighty-seven and one-half acres of land, which for fertility of soil und improvements will compare favorably with any in the township; and is one of the young, energetic, and industrious sons of the county, to whom it looks for a continuance of its present prosperity. His home is known throughout the county as the “Locust Grove Farm.”
