J. M. Kelleam, M. D. and coroner of Sebastian County, was born in Franklin County, Ark., November 6, 1858, and is a son of Dr. W. L. Kelleam, a native of Johnson County, Ark., where he practiced over thirty-five years. Our subject lived in Franklin County until sixteen years of age, and then entered the literary and scientific course of the Cumberland University, in Tennessee. Returning to Arkansas, he attended the University at Fayetteville one term, and then entered the University of Louisville, Ky. He graduated from the medical department of the institution in 1882, and then located at Fort Smith, where he has been actively engaged in the practice of his profession since, and in meeting with well-deserved success. He is a member of the County and State Medical Society, and also of the Medical Association. In 1888 he was elected coroner of the county, and he is now filling that position with credit to himself and the community. While in Louisville, Ky., he married Miss Emma Wier, a lady of education and ability.
