Below is a family biography from the book,  The History of Crawford County, Arkansas published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1889.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Andrew H. Huckleberry, M. D., was born in Clark County, Ind., October 5, 1844, and when three years old was taken by his parents to Jennings County, Ind., where he grew up on a farm, and received a common-school education. In May, 1864, he enlisted in Company I, One Hundred and Thirty-fourth Indiana Volunteer Infantry and served 100 days. Soon after his return he began the study of medicine under Dr. C. H. Green, of North Vernon, Ind., and in 1870 attended a course of lectures at the Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery. The same year he came to this county, and has since been engaged in trading, farming and the practice of his profession. He is one of the energetic and enterprising men of the place, having accumulated his property by the exercise of industry and good management, and in his home place has 194 acres of land, of which some 140 are highly cultivated. December 25, 1873, he married Emily Mobly, daughter of Charles Mobly, an early settler of the county. Mrs. Huckleberry was born in Crawford County, July 4, 1853, and is the mother of the following named children: James A., Eva W., David, Jesse W. and Lettice M. Mrs. Huckleberry is a member of the Methodist Church, South. Dr. Huckleberry is a Republican in politics, and has served as magistrate. He belongs to the G. A. R., American Legion of Honor, Knights of Labor and Arkansas State Wheel.
